~Office Volunteers~

If you volunteer for Wed/Thu nights, then you should be there from 8 PM - 11 PM.
If you volunteer for Saturdays nights, then you should be there from 5 PM - 8 PM.

Three things to remember:
1. Instructions to check out the movies are posted on a paper hung to the right of the movies/games file cabinet. Q's? Let me know!

2. At least one light needs to be on in the lounge if there male guests in the lounge. I bought the lamp by the phone so they can use that instead of one of the overhead lights. If YOU need light to do your homework, etc. You are totally entitled to have an overhead light on. They have to deal with it if they don't like it :) I know it's not fun to "police" but that's what needs to happen sometimes :) If they don't want to listen then they need to leave. Lame, I know. I'm sure it won't happen but in case it does, don't be afraid to lovingly speak up!

3. Girls shouldn't be sitting on laps of other girls or male guests. It's gross. Remind them if you have to. You can totally do it in a funny way/lighthearted way so it's not a big deal. :)

***If people have questions, feel free to answer them. However, if you're not sure of the answer, PLEASE have them email me. If it's a bigger deal that needs attention immediately, text me! I'm here to help if it's needed!

PERKS for Perkins Volunteers

Volunteers: I love you! I want this to be fun for you, and I KNOW it helps unify our residence hall. You make a HUGE difference in the "feel" of Perkins Hall, and I'm so grateful for you!

There are a few benefits:

If you keep track of your hours you volunteer, I can print off a certificate that you can use to prove you have job experience, volunteer experience. The more hours you volunteer, the more impressive it is for future employees!

You will get a key to the DVD file cabinet/games cupboard. YOU will then have access to the movies and games 24/7. Notice I said YOU have access :) The key I give you should never be lent out. YOU earned the right to have it, others have not :)

You will make lasting friendships by meeting new people. Seriously...some of our volunteers have made friends for life by getting to know a larger group of tenants!

You will be blessed in ways I don't even know about. When you help to unify a group, you are blessed. Simple as that :)

My Birthday Volunteer

I will post a list of bithdays with first names and apartment #s so everyone will know when dorm birthdays are for the semester.

What I'll need YOU to do, is to deliver the birthday bag on their big day so they know we care :) You can help me put together the bags for next semester as well...you rock!

Keys are ONLY for your use. You may accompany someone down to the lounge to check out a movie if you wish. Please don't lend out the key because you don't feel like walking down with them...there's really no point in locking it up if we lend out the key.

Movie Nights (Saturdays!)

Saturday nights are generally Perkins Movie Nights!

I'll have fliers for various movie nights. I'll need help with picking movies for the movie nights...we have a lot but I may be able to order some special...let me know if you're interested in giving advice!

I'll also need someone to start the movies on the nights they play. It's not hard...whoever is interested in the movies for that night can be in the lounge to start it.

Please remember that at least the lamp needs to be on because it's very likely that male guests will be in and out of the lounge that night.

Sweet sweet! I'll have microwavable popcorn in the lounge for those who want it. It goes fast, so come early to get some!
